The objective of the research is titled "Detect cardiovascular alterations with the electrocardiogram study in patients with arterial hypertension and type II diabetes mellitus at the Chaqui Inpatient Health Center, Potosí." Given this, the study is based on the high prevalence of high blood pressure (HTN) and type II diabetes mellitus (DM2) in the population of Chaqui, both pathologies recognized as risk factors for serious cardiovascular complications. In said center, structural limitations, absence of clear protocols and scarcity of specialized resources were identified, which makes early detection of cardiac alterations difficult. The methodology had a quantitative approach, non-experimental and descriptive design, based on the documentary review of 26 clinical records (15 hypertensive patients and 11 diabetics) and on a survey of 4 health professionals. Among the main results is that patients with HTN were mainly left ventricular hypertrophy 26.7%, conduction disorders 20% and signs of ischemia 13.3% and with DM2, although 36.4% did not present alterations, cases of arrhythmias 18.2% and ventricular hypertrophy 18.2%, on the other hand, health personnel highlighted as the main advantages of the ECG in telehealth the greater access to diagnosis 50%, followed by time and cost savings 25% and the improvement of clinical follow-up 25%. Telehealth, through the use of digital ECG, is confirmed as an effective and viable tool to improve access, timely detection and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases in rural areas.
