Seroprevalencia de anticuerpos anti entamoeba histolytica en pacientes de diferentes instituciones de salud de la ciudad de Tarija , de Junio a Septiembre de 2012

Abstract

El propósito del presente estudio fue utilizar pruebas inmunoenzimática (ELISA) para determinar la prevalencia de anticuerpos anti Entamoeba histolytica en diferentes instituciones de salud de la ciudad de Tarija. En nuestro país. la prevalencia de la amebiasis está basada en la identificación microscópica del parásito en las heces, pero debido al bajo rendimiento del método y a la imposibilidad real de distinguir entre Entamoeba histolytica y Entamoeba dispar, desconocemos la prevalencia verdadera de la infección por Entamoeba histplytica en la poblaciónThe purpose of the present study was to use enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) to determine the prevalence of Entamoeba histolytica antibodies in different health institutions in the city of Tarija. In our country, the prevalence of amebiasis is based on the microscopic identification of the parasite in the stool, but due to the low performance of the method and the real impossibility to distinguish between Entamoeba histolytica and Entamoeba dispar, we do not know the real prevalence of Entamoeba histolytica infection in the population
