Abstract

La preocupación de la Comunidad Andina por garantizar la paz y la seguridad de sus Países Miembros y sus habitantes, se hace visible con el Protocolo de Quito (mayo de 1988), cuando hace referencia a los principios de igualdad, justicia, solidaridad y democracia, a partir de esta refe-rencia, particularmente laúltima década ha sido prolífica en iniciativas que tienden a desarrollar marcos comunes de cooperación en materiade seguridad, a fin de favorecer la paz regional y de enfrentar de manera coordinada las amenazas de alcance transnacional tales como el tráfico de drogas y de armas, actos de terrorismo y la trata de personasThe Andean Community's concern to guarantee the peace and security of its Member Countries and their inhabitants is made visible with the Protocol of Quito (May 1988), when it refers to the principles of equality, justice, solidarity and democracy, from this reference, particularly the last decade has been prolific in initiatives that tend to develop common frameworks of cooperation in security matters, in order to favor regional peace and to co-ordinate transnational threats such as trafficking of drugs and weapons, acts of terrorism and trafficking in persons
