Relación entre overjet y clase esqueletal en pacientes con dentición permanente de la clínica de la Maestría de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Dentomaxilar de la Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar Sucre 2015-2021

Abstract

Uno de los muchos aspectos a tomar en cuenta para poder diagnosticar correctamente una maloclusión, es poder determinar qué tan próximo es el análisis clínico que realizamos al tipo de relación esquelética entre maxilar superior y mandíbula. Esta investigación tuvo el propósito de determinar si existe relación entre la medición del Overjet y el tipo de Clase esqueletal en los pacientes con dentición permanente atendidos en la clínica de la Universidad Simón Bolívar durante el periodo 2015-2021, así mismo determinar la frecuencia del tipo de Overjet, la frecuencia de Clase esqueletal tipo 1,2 y 3; analizar la relación entre Overjet y la Clase esqueletal en hombres y mujeres, determinar la angulación y posición de incisivos superiores e inferiores con Overjet Normal según la clase esqueletal y determinar la relación entre la posición y angulación de los incisivos y la medida del Overjet.One of the many aspects to be considered in correctly diagnosing a malocclusion is determining how closely the clinical analysis we perform corresponds to the type of skeletal relationship between the maxilla and the mandible. This research aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between overjet measurement and skeletal class in patients with permanent dentition treated at the Universidad Simón Bolívar clinic during the 2015–2021 period. It also sought to determine the frequency of overjet types, the frequency of skeletal classes I, II, and III; to analyze the relationship between overjet and skeletal class in men and women; to determine the angulation and position of the upper and lower incisors with normal overjet according to skeletal class; and to determine the relationship between incisor position and angulation and overjet measurement.
