Efecto del cultivo de amaranto (Amaranthus caudatus) en los medios de vida comunidades Pucara y Pampas Abajo – municipio Tomina

Abstract

A más de una década de intervención en el cultivo de amaranto por diversos actores en el municipio de Tomina, ha pasado de ser un cultivo subutilizado y olvidado a un cultivo de importancia dentro el sistema productivo agrícola de las familias de esta región, cuya producción es netamente comercial y destinada a mercados nacionales e internacionales. En ese marco el estudio se planteó por objetivo el de "analizar el efecto del cultivo de amaranto, en los medios de vida (activo humano, social, natural/ecológico, físico y financiero) de las familias productoras de las comunidades de Pucara y Pampas Abajo, del municipio de Tomina, departamento Chuquisaca".After more than a decade of intervention in amaranth cultivation by various actors in the municipality of Tomina, it has gone from being an underutilized and forgotten crop to a crop of importance within the agricultural production system of the families in this region, whose production is purely commercial and destined for national and international markets. Within this framework, the study set out with the objective of "analyzing the effect of amaranth cultivation on the livelihoods (human, social, natural/ecological, physical and financial assets) of the producing families of the communities of Pucara and Pampas Abajo, in the municipality of Tomina, Chuquisaca department."
