Derechos y políticas a pueblos indígenas aislados y en contacto inicial, Ecuador

Abstract

La presente investigación constituye, en primer lugar, la sistematización de los principales estándares normativos, jurídicos y de política pública para la protección de los derechos humanos de los Pueblos Indígenas en Aislamiento (PIA) en Ecuador – a partir de la Constitución de Ecuador (2008), y de instrumentos internacionales. Posteriormente, se incluye un contexto sociohistórico y territorial de los PIA en el país, y de los Pueblos Indígenas (PI) Waorani (en Contacto Inicial- CI) y Kichwa – colindantes al área de influencia de los PIA.

This research constitutes, first, a systematization of the main regulatory, legal, and public policy standards for the protection of the human rights of Indigenous Peoples in Isolation (IPI) in Ecuador – based on the Ecuadorian Constitution (2008) and international instruments. Subsequently, it includes a socio-historical and territorial context of the IPI in the country, as well as of the Waorani Indigenous Peoples (in Initial Contact - IC) and the Kichwa – both adjacent to the area of influence of the IPI.
