En los últimos años el cultivo de amaranto se ha revalorizado debido al alto valor nutritivo que posee y al aporte que realiza a la nutrición humana con proteína, aminoácidos y minerales, además porque constituye una alternativa importante para que las familias rurales puedan diversificar su sistema de producción agrícola y mejorar sus ingresos económicos. Es por ello importante analizar el estado de situación actual del cultivo y en base a ello proponer prácticas de manejo agronómico en el cultivo, las mismas de realizarse en el momento oportuno permitirán mejorar los rendimientos del amaranto In recent years the cultivation of amaranth has been revalued due to its high nutritional value and its contribution to human nutrition with protein, amino acids and minerals, and also because it is an important alternative for rural families to diversify their system of Agricultural production and improve their economic incomes.
