El sistema ABO además de presentar sus antígenos sobre los glóbulos rojos tiene anticuerpos (hemaglutininas) contra los antígenos ausentes en sus eritrocitos. Se han obtenido resultados controvertidos con respecto a las modificaciones que pueden presentar los títulos de estos anticuerpos con la edad del individuo. Por otra parte existen escasos datos del sistema ABO en la población Boliviana que presenta un débil poliformismo con mayoría de individuos del grupo sanguíneo O The ABO system in addition to presenting its antigens on the red blood cells has antibodies (hemagglutinins) against the antigens absent in their erythrocytes. Controversial results have been obtained with respect to the modifications that the titres of these antibodies may have with the age of the individual. On the other hand, there is scarce data of the ABO system in the Bolivian population that presents a weak poliformismo with majority of individuals of the blood group O
